Knowledge for better food systems

Call for industry challenges: Using maths and engineering to solve problems in food production, biotechnology, resource efficiency, water and sustainability

Deadline:
2 Mar 2019

The University of Nottingham and the Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Network will host a study group for mathematical science researchers from 29 April until 1 May 2019.

The theme is ‘Clean and sustainable growth’. Companies of any size are invited to pose their problems to the study group. Industry representatives and researchers will work together to develop practical solutions.

Previous study groups have worked on challenges including improving cocoa yields for the chocolate industry, helping farmers to optimise the value of pigs, and refining the design of a hydroponics system for crop production.
