Paul McCartney and various other celebrities are urging us all to go vegetarian once a week to reduce livestock related GHG emissions. Paul McCartney has launched a campaing to support the Meat Free Mondays to help us on our way (including a list of famous celebrities that includes both Russell Brand and Doris Day). Friends of the Earth welcomes the initiative but says Government must "change the way meat and dairy are produced to tackle the damaging environmental and social impacts of intensive production".
