IETA-ICROA research on Insetting as a tool of supply chain emission management

marycdavies's picture

I am in contact in regards to research that I am conducting on behalf of the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) www.icroa.org and the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) http://www.ieta.org.

The topic of this research is to evaluate the concept of Insetting. Emission Insetting refers to the investment by a company in an emission reducing activity within its supply chain or sphere of influence. The objective of insetting is to both reduce emissions, and create shared environmental/economic value for both the company, and its supply chain.

Whether you have heard of Insetting or not, I would be very grateful if you could fill out a 5 minute survey. I am particularly interested to get the perspective from suppliers of produce (agriculture/forestry), businesses with supply chain emissions to manage, and researchers, practitioners and policymakers working within the food and sustainability sector.

Please select the following web link to complete the survey which is open until the 20th of July.https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Insetting

Many thanks for your time and interest in this research. For further information and enquiries please contact Mary Davies -md14329.2014@my.bristol.ac.uk

Reducing emission is good for the environment so the supply chain must be reviewed and changed in order to have a great economic and environmental value. There steps in reducing the emission in supply chain. First is build a great communication to deliver great performance, communication is very important in order to convey intentions. Second is Set the right targets, you need to target absolute emission reduction so that you can help the environment. Third is focus on the performance improvement not compliance. Here are some things to consider, i hope this will help.
